With a hot and humid day, drivers knew it was going to be wild and loose for The Atlanta 100, presented by Global Transmission Parts. It also meant that the fans were in for one whale of a show as drivers would slip and slide all day long. In Qualifying action the #38 Geico Chevrolet of Dennis Brasfield would pace the field with a time of 31.471. When Dash action would end the #77 Miller High Life Chevrolet of Justin Anderson would nab the checkered.
Heat 1 would see a vicious duel multiple times in the 8 lap race. Terry Walters in His Widow Wax Chevy, and Jeff Dotson in his Goodwrench #8 would battle for 5 laps until Walters looped it out of Turn 4. Trevor Malone in the #85 Hooters car would take up the mantle with a 3 lap duel to pull ahead of Dotson for the win. Heat 2 saw a wild start that would take out most of the competitors for the 8 lap shootout. Last seasons Point Champion Jim Whaley Jr would take the flag by missing the carnage.
The Feature got off to a rough start as Terry Walters spun his tires taking himself out en route to the first of 7 cautions. The race would end like it started, with a caution as Trevor Malone would slide up ever so slightly and collect the #38 of Brasfield. Thus handing the win to the dominate Anderson. There were 7 cautions for 25 laps. Congratulations to Anderson on his first win of the new season!
