Cohen Claims Improbable Win!!!!

The end of the season brought a much relieved sense of finality to the spring, leading to the ability to be able to enjoy the impending off-season and summer. Officials also deemed it time to try some new ideas. One of these would be the “Caution Clock”. There would be a 10 minute countdown until the yellow would fly, unless the caution came out before the timer reached zero. At either point, it would bring the field back together and make the rush of the restarts a common theme.

The front was the place to be. At least for all the action. There were 7 lead changes. So the lead was the hot commodity. Thomas Christ would lead the most laps with Trevor Malone hot in tow. In fact those two battled it out for three-quarters of the race. However, they would get together coming out of 4 with 8 to go. This led to one of the most improbable wins you could imagine. Paul “Buzz” Cohen would be thrown into the lead after their contact. Don’t get it wrong though! Cohen had been right in the top 3 all day. So it was no fluke he was there to capitalize on this opportunity. Once Cohen got a taste of it, he would not let go and actually increased his lead over the then 2nd place of Mark Koschik.

This was a very popular win in the garage. Fellow competitor and R-n-J Motorsports owner Jim Whaley Jr had this to say. “I’ve known and race with Buzz for over 12 years now. I’ve seen him get astronomically better behind the wheel. I’m glad I got to actually see and experience this. I’m as happy as if one of my guys just one. Damn good job Paul!” With that the season has now come to a close. For right this moment it is all about Paul Cohen. Soak this up and enjoy it Buzz, because a day without a Buzz……never was!

Winner: Paul “Buzz” Cohen

2nd: Mark “Gomez” Koschik

3rd: Trevor “TnT” Malone

4th: Jim “jamnjim” Whaley Jr

5th: Thomas “Tj” Christ
