Anderson With The Hat Trick In Daytona Beach!!!!!!

Daytona International Speedway, the Motorsport mecca of the world. Home of so many types of Motorsports such as Superbikes, Trans-Am, SCCA, NASCAR and so many more. But this time it was the drivers of the Sure Fire Racing League who would be invading the confines of pure unadulterated speed. With a slight breeze to compliment the gorgeous 78 degrees, fans would be extremely comfortable for this event. And who wouldn’t be? Qualifying got under way and as had been the case many times this season, Justin Anderson would grab the pole with a time of 46.921. Dennis Brasfield would get the outside pole with a time of 46.965.

The drivers would climb into their machines to tackle 100 laps of white knuckled, pulse pounding action. With non-stop 2 wide and sometimes 3 wide racing, you can’t lose your concentration. Not even for a split second. If you do, calamity will ensue. Right after the cars left pit road to line up disaster struck for the #38 team as they had a dead battery and had no choice but to replace it. This would cost the Alabama native 2laps. Anderson would lead lap one closely followed by Tim Trayhan in the #380 Snap-On Chevrolet SS.

AS usual at Daytona the inside line is usually the line to be in. However, after Seeing Jim Whaley Jr, and Trevor Malone making some serious headway on the high side, Dean Viney would hop up and get in front of that train. Viney, and Whaley and Malone would pull the outside up and pull ahead of Anderson and the inside line. Lap 8 would see the #13 of Carson Poe try to go up the middle into turn 3 to make a move on Dean Viney. There was just one little problem. Whaley in the #46 was already there. Poe would get into Whaley shooting him up the track towards the turn 3 wall. Whaley would do his best to minimize the damage, and just grazed the wall. But at Daytona, any damage can be fatal.

Poe would manage to get his Chevrolet SS to the front. But the inexperienced young gun would do some extremely aggressive side drafting and blocking early on. That is to be expected at the end, not with less than 20 laps in. This would be the catalyst for the big one. With his over exuberance being in the lead driving him. Poe would make a questionable block on Anderson. Anderson would shoot underneath him, but, Brasfield would be down on the line going into 3. Anderson didn’t realize he had more room than he did and didn’t pull it as low as he would have liked. In not going as low as he could have Anderson would just touch Poe in the left rear quarter. But Poe also was coming down a little bit more than he should have with a car right there. That is where the inexperience played its part. By no means was it Poe’s fault. But experience would have not made that move or the other moves. But then again, how can you learn without these instances to teach you? But being Anderson didn’t know exactly where Brasfield was couldn’t put the car where it should have been either. So in reality, it was a racing deal that both would learn from.

Poe’s team would work their butts off to repair that car to be in raceable shape. And it was until lap 32 when Malone would catch the apron and get loose. He then would shoot up into young Carson Poe and launching him into the wall. Effectively ending his race. Terry Walters would once again show his dramatic driving improvement when on lap 77 the Widow Wax, R-n-J Motorsports driver would avoid catastrophe when Viney would pit and Malone decided to also. Walters had nowhere to go but up the middle and split the two. No cars were harmed in the making of this move. The last move made would be when once again Thomas Christ in his #55 Summit Sports, R-n-J Motorsports Ford Fusion would clip his owner’s car in the left rear with 3 to go just like at Michigan 2 races prior. This allowed fellow teammate Justin Anderson to pull the hat trick winning the last 3 races of the season, and 5th overall!

Top 5:

Winner: Justin Anderson

2nd: Thomas Christ

3rd: Mark Koschik

4th: Trevor Malone

5th: Dean Viney
