Beaudoin Makes It Two In A Row!!!

The Sure Fire Racing League 2015-16 winter series took the checkered flag Friday night at the beautiful Southern National Motorsports Park located in Lucama, NC. It was the first visit to this Speedway for the Sure Fire SK Mods and drivers were nervous of the unknown territory in front of them. It did not take Andre Beaudoin long to figure out the fast way around this .40 mile oval with a practice session fast time of 14.009 while Daryl Tiezzi was also a quick study of the environment and posted a 14.077 in his familiar #16.

Qualifying would look very similar as Beaudoin put his #31 on pole with a time of 14.062 and Tiezzi posted a nice lap of 14.374 to fill the front row for the Redneck Rehab 125.

As the green flag flew over the field it was Beaudoin showing the way with Tiezzi in his tire tracks and looking for an opening to take over the front spot. Jay Harned was able to quickly move up from his 4th place starting position by getting under the #73 of Mike Journeaux.

The 125 lap event would go wire to wire with no cautions to slow the field although Eric Nordhoff did his best by leaving parts of his #22 scattered after contact with the turn 2 wall. While his car limped to the pits for repair the battle raged on for the lead. Tiezzi was able to get around Beaudoin for a short stint in the lead but in the end Beaudoin was just too strong and took home the checkers for the 2nd week in a row.

The staff at Sure Fire Racing would like to take a moment and thank all of our drivers for their support and participation this season. We look forward to seeing you and many newcomers on track next season. Information on next season will be available very soon.
