Griffin Strangleholds Field At Indianapolis!!!
Sure Fire Racing Cup Series went to Indianapolis for the Crown Royal 200. 18 Cars took the green with Cody Griffin starting from the pole with Justin Anderson going from second.
Caution 1 out on lap 1 as the 21 of Ryan Hedrick pushes hard into turn three hitting the wall and bounces off collecting the 17 of Kerlan Andrew.
Caution 2 out on lap 6 as the 73 of Justin Anderson, 33 of Byron Rose and the 19 of Zachariah Bernard go three wide into turn one and all three of them meet in the middle. Zachariah on the outside gets loose and Justin on the bottom pushes all into Byron spinning in the short straight and collecting the 32 of Paul Burthwick and the 1 of Robert Underwood. The 89 of Matthew Quick self-spins behind them but remains clean.
Caution 3 on lap 23 has the 31 of William Ridgeway gets loose out of turn four self-spinning but does not collect anyone else.
Caution 4 on lap 29 has the 71 of Monty Selsor getting loose out of turn one and recovers his car on the pit exit road. He merges back onto the track as the 89 of Matthew Quick checks up and the 1 of Robert Underwood who is right on the bumper of Matthew takes it wide hitting the outside wall going into turn two bouncing down and hits Monty Selsor.
Final caution on lap 62 as the 89 of Matthew Quick self-spins out of turn three.
Green flag drops and the 3 of Cody Griffin remains the leader and never looks back as he takes his first win of the season. Justin Anderson crosses the line 2nd as DJ Brasfield takes 3rd. Jim Whaley Jr gets 4th and Chuck Shaw Jr rounds out the top 5.
