Brasfield Survives The Carnage To Get 8th Win Of Career At Martinsville!!!

The SFR Cup Series goes short track-in at Martinsville for the STP Gas Booster 150. 21 drivers made the field and like most short tracks the carnage begins.

Caution 1 on lap 1 the 12 of Bob Eldred takes it three wide in turn one and collides with 70 of Mike Arn, 23 of Steve McGough the 5 of Tristan Shaw and the 96 of Wyatt Alexander.

Caution 2 comes out on lap 7 as the 24 of Joshua Shelton gets loose out of turn two and the 51 of Rick Springer helps him go around.

Caution 3 on lap 13 has Karma come around on the 51 of Rick Springer as the 46 of Tyler Stooksburg turns him around in turn one.

Caution 4 waves on lap 20 as the 24 of Joshua Shelton goes way wide in groove 3 against the wall in turn four and the 46 of Tyler Stooksburg’s spotter didn’t tell him as he squeezed the 24 into the outside wall on the front stretch and the 24 retaliates twice against the 46 and is disqualified.

Caution 5 comes out on lap 27 as the 10 of Andrew A Johnston spins the tires on the restart and in his scramble to regain he gets into the back of the 99 of Thomas Hunihan and they collect the 44 of Joshua Van Winkle.

Caution 6 on lap 42 comes out as the 20 of Justin Gabehart gets into the back of the 100 of Dustin Harris in turn four collecting the 13 of Thomas Axsom and the 99 of Thomas Hunihan.

Caution 7 comes out on lap 49 as the 10 of Andrew A Johnston gets into the 46 of Tyler Stooksburg on the front stretch collecting the 40 of Jim Whaley Jr.

Final caution 8 on lap 91 comes out as the 13 of Thomas Axsom self-spins in turn two.

On the restart the 38 of DJ Brasfield takes the lead and doesn’t look back as he takes his first win of this season. Joseph Overstreet who led the most laps settles for 2nd. Rick Springer hangs on for 3rd with Thomas Axsom taking 4th and Anthony Mrakovich rounds out the top 5.
