Underwood Pounces on Whaley's Short!!!

The 2015 Season 1 came to a close at Michigan International Speedway this week end in the Quicken Loans 200 brought to you by Sure Fire Racing. The Champion Justin Anderson started from the pole of 19 cars but his day was like Jeff Gordon’s first championship. The set-up just wasn’t there as he had troubles though out the race.

With 100 laps to complete they were slowed by the first of three cautions the first on lap 4. The 56 of Will Jenney spins going into turn three and fails to lock up his brakes and slams the outside wall in turn four.

Caution 2 flies on lap 9 on the restart as the 37 of Michael Blood spins out of turn two taking out a bunch of cars like, 55 of TJ Christ, 42 of Brian Farrington, 89 of Matthew Quick, 77 of Hugo Linder, 07 of Rob Anglin and the 27 of Collin Stephens.

Final caution on lap 14 was the 29 of Daniel Ott Gets loose in turn three and collides with the 44 of Evan Black.

Nothing but green to the end with Robert Underwood, Jim Whaley Jr and DJ Brasfield exchanging the lead. DJ Brasfield would have a small issue in the pits giving Robert Underwood second and trying to run down Jim Whaley Jr who had a half track lead. With just 10 laps to go Jim Whaley Jr would have an electrical issue sending him to the pits and Robert Underwood repeats with winning the season ending race. DJ Brasfield crosses the line 2nd. Jim Whaley Jr returns to the track after a battery change to take 3rd. Justin Anderson crosses the line for 4th and TJ Christ after a small stint in the garage rounds out the top 5.
