Quick Awarded Race Win After Post Race Infractions Disqualify Griffin!!

The Coca-Cola 250 by Sure Fire Racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway saw 19 cars take the green.

Lap 8 brings out the first caution as the 61 of Brad Ream gets into the 31 of Paul Burthwick out of turn four collecting the 8 of Curtis Packer. The 7 of DJ Brasfield takes care of a little lawn care but is not damaged and continues on.

Caution two comes out on lap 14 as Jack Eyre in his 13 machine gets loose on the front stretch at which point the 44 of John Petrozelle avoids the spinning 13, but gets into the 25 of Jim Christopherson. The 61 of Brad Ream hits the back of the 25 going into turn one as well as the 39 of Zach Garland.

On lap 20, the damaged 25 slows into turn one and the 3 of Cody Griffin collides with him causing a multi-car crash involving the 88 of Mark Jackson and the 13 of Jake Eyre.

Nothing but green until lap 97 when the 73 of Justin Anderson self-spins into turn one and the 3 of Cody Griffin locks up his tires but too late as he drives in to Justin’s driver door.

On lap 104 Justin Anderson in the 73 Ford gets into Teammate DJ Brasfield who was trying to correct his car as not to spin his Noritz Chevrolet. This also collects the 40 of Jim Whaley Jr. During this, the 89 of Matthew Quick scrapes the wall to avoid the crash.

Long green flag run to lap 156 when Matthew Quick drives down low to pass the 3 of Cody Griffin but Cody tries to slam the door but is too late and Matthew Quick slides into the back stretch inside wall leaving Cody Griffin the only car to finish the race on the lead lap.

In the aftermath of the race, NASCAR calls Cody Griffin to the Hauler and the outcome is disqualification of the 3 giving the win to Matthew Quick.

Mathew Quick is the winner and Jim Whaley Jr crosses the line 2nd. Mark Jackson took the 3rd place finish as DJ Brasfield takes 4th. Justin Anderson would hang on to round out the top 5.
